Lokali publishes 884 free audio guides across 190 cities in 73 countries. Guides are drafted with AI assistance from a fixed research brief, checked against structured place data, and cross-referenced against Wikipedia and Wikidata by coordinate match where an entity exists. This page explains exactly how that works and how to tell us when we get something wrong.
Each guide starts from a structured record for the place: its name, type, coordinates, typical visit duration and a factual summary. That record drives every page, so the visit time we quote and the coordinates we publish come from data rather than from prose.
The narration itself is drafted by a large language model working from that record against a fixed brief: plain language, no invented quotations, no invented dates, no superlatives that cannot be checked. We use Claude, made by Anthropic, for drafting and translation.
We say this openly because you should know how a text was made before you decide how much to trust it.
Coordinates. Every place carries latitude and longitude. Where we link to Wikipedia or Wikidata, the link is only published when the external entity's own coordinates fall within three kilometres of ours. 242 of 884 guides currently carry a verified cross-reference; the rest have no matching entity and so carry no link rather than a guessed one.
Visit duration. The "time needed" figure on each page is the time visitors spend at the site. It is kept separate from the length of the audio narration, which is listed on its own line. These two numbers mean different things and we do not mix them.
Translations. Guides are translated from a single English source. When the English source changes, the translations are regenerated rather than left stale.
We do not publish opening hours or ticket prices, because those change often and a stale price is worse than none. Check the official site before you travel.
We are not affiliated with any of the sites we describe, and no one pays to appear in Lokali. There is no advertising in these pages.
We do not write reviews or ratings of our own.
If something here is wrong, tell us at contact@lokali.travel with the page address. Factual corrections are applied to the English source and then pushed through every language.
Each guide page carries the month it was last verified.
